We offer a variety of retirement accounts.
Please be sure to consult your tax advisor to discuss which type
of San Francisco Federal Credit Union IRA will best meet your
financial goals.
Earn tax-deferred dividends with this retirement account. We offer
competitive rates on Traditional IRAs and Roth IRAs. With Roth
IRAs, qualified distributions are tax-free. Dividends are calculated
daily and paid monthly on these variable rate accounts –
and while there’s no minimum to open one, a $500 minimum
balance is required to earn dividends.
Enjoy all the benefits of our Traditional IRA or Roth IRA while
locking in a higher fixed dividend rate. Your dividends will vary
according to the term of your deposit, which can range from 12
to 60 months. To open your IRA Certificate, deposit a minimum
of $1,000.
This is a tax-deferred account that lets you save money for your
child’s education expenses. Your savings may be applied
to elementary or secondary school expenses, or to help cover the
cost of a college education. When used for educational purposes,
the earnings are tax-free. Qualified distributions are tax-free.
You have the option to open a regular Coverdell Savings Account
or Certificate.
Your funds are safe with us. While banks are insured through the FDIC,
Credit Unions are federally insured through the NCUA. As of April 1, 2006,
the NCUA will cover retirement accounts up to $250,000. This is in
addition to the $100,000 that the NCUA already covers for other types
of accounts.
Visit NCUA.gov for more information.
