2020 Youth Scholarships
CONGRATULATIONS 2020 YOUTH SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS!
|“Part of our mission is to give back to the community, so helping our youth members achieve a higher education is important to us.”
Jonathan Oliver, President and CEO, San Francisco Federal Credit Union
Each of these youth members received a $2,500 scholarship for their achievements in academics, participation in school and community activities and their stated goals and aspirations.
Celena Ye (right), of San Francisco, is a graduate of Lowell High School. In the fall she will attend Brown University, where she plans to major in both Cognitive Science and Computer Science. Celena ultimately would like to create a smart phone application to help families at risk of medical emergencies, like people with heart conditions.
Stephanie Duru (middle), of San Francisco, also attended Lowell. Come fall, she plans to study nursing at University of San Francisco, with the ultimate goal of going to medical school and becoming an OB/GYN and helping resource-poor communities around the world.
Maria Alegria Paningbatan (left), of Daly City, is a graduate of Westmoor High School. In the fall, Maria will begin coursework in Business Administration at University of California, Berkeley. She wants to become a CPA and live a life that affords her the luxury of travel – possibly even living abroad – and buying a home for her mother.
We are proud and fortunate to have these exceptional students as youth members of San Francisco Federal Credit Union. We are glad to help lessen the financial pressure that comes with pursuing a higher education, and have no doubt these bright young people will have a successful future. Congratulations!
Congratulations to the 2020 Scholarship Recipients!
Recipients: Maria Alegria Paningbatan (left), Stephanie Duru (middle) and Celena Ye (right).
