On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am pleased to share an important leadership update at San Francisco Federal Credit Union. We are excited to announce that the Board has unanimously selected interim CEO Ray Shams as SFFCU’s new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. We could not have chosen a more qualified or respected leader – one who has been a steadfast advocate for our members and communities – to lead the credit union forward.
Joining SFFCU in 2017, Ray has been an integral member of the credit union’s Executive Leadership Team for the past seven years as Chief Lending Officer. Throughout his tenure, he has always led with a deep commitment to our mission, members, team, and community.
With more than 30 years of executive leadership experience at several of the largest credit unions and financial institutions in the country, Ray brings unparalleled expertise and a proven ability to drive enhanced member value, growth, and long-term success. Equally important, Ray is dedicated to a people-first approach by fostering a culture of collaboration and empowerment in service to our members, communities, and team.
With Ray’s leadership, our talented and dedicated team, and a strong strategic framework in place, we could not be more excited about the future ahead. We will continue to add more value for our members, focusing on innovation that is central to who we are, and to our San Francisco and San Mateo communities. We will further invest in deepening our connections to the Bay Area where we have a 70-year legacy, expanding programs to improve the lives and grow the economic opportunities of the people we serve. And we will ensure we have an inclusive culture where every team member feels valued, respected, and empowered to contribute to our shared goals.
