NOMINATING COMMITTEE
The Board of San Francisco Federal Credit Union has appointed a Nominating Committee to nominate members to fill the open positions on the Board of Directors. The Nominating Committee has filed the following nominations with the Credit Union. Below are brief statements of qualifications and biographical data for each of the nominees.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
(Three to be elected)
LUENNA KIM (Incumbent, 3-year term)
Luenna Kim joined the Credit Union as a volunteer in 2017. She has worked in the public sector for more than 15 years and currently serves as the director of human resources for the San Francisco Human Services Agency. Prior to that, she was the labor relations manager for the Human Services Agency and San Francisco General Hospital. Luenna has worked as a public defender, a legal recruiter for a Fortune 500 company, and as a human resources director for a public-school district a charter management organization.
WILLIAM SMITH (Incumbent, 3-year term)
Bill Smith is currently Treasurer of the Board of Directors. He has been a member of the Credit Union since 1980. He began serving as a volunteer with the Credit Union in 2003 as a member of the Supervisory Committee. On the board of directors, he is currently serving on the Human Relations and Volunteer Development committees. Bill is an attorney. He was an assistant district attorney with the City and County of San Francisco for twenty years, and a deputy County Counsel for San Mateo County for 13 years.
WILLIAM LEE (Nominee, 3-year term)
William Lee joined the Credit Union as a member of the Supervisory Committee in June 2018. His career with the City and County of San Francisco spans 20 years of fiscal budgeting, human resources, and administrative experience. He is currently the Deputy Director of Administration and Support for the Department of Emergency Management, where he is responsible for overseeing finance, procurement, human resources, information technology, and facility management. In addition, since 2015 Will has served as a Board Member for the San Francisco Municipal Executives Association’s Board of Directors.
The Credit Union’s bylaw states that the election will not be conducted by ballot, and there will be no nominations from the floor when there is only one nominee for each position to be filled. A member may also make a nomination to fill a vacancy by filing a petition signed by a minimum of 490 members. Such petitions for nomination must be filed with the Secretary of the Credit Union by Friday, January 22, 2021. Each nominee by petition must submit with the petition, a brief statement of qualifications and biographical data, and a signed certificate stating that they agree to be nominated and will serve if elected. Please look for the “Notice of Annual Meeting” announcement in January 2021.
